JUDGMENT DAY HAS BEEN FIXED – Court schedules judgment on the matter between Hon Ferdinand Dozi Nwankwo and Dr Okechukwu Eze.
The National Assembly Election Tribunal holding in the
Federal High Court Awka, Anambra State between Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo of the
All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and Okechukwu Eze of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) to determined the rightful
winner of the election
for the House of Representatives of the National Assembly
for Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njikoka Federal Constituency held on Saturday 28th day of
March 2015 has been an interesting proceeding as both parties display a level
of Professionalism in their career.
However, there is an obvious imbalance as one of the
parties (Okechukwu Eze) seems to be less equipped or not expecting such manner
of outing.
Such gave rise to an earlier rumor which said that Okey
Eze had resigned from the National Assembly and peacefully handed over to the
true winner Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo. The rumor which was well received as a
wise decision and show of sympathy for the pains of the people of the
constituency whose votes were rigged. But hopes were again shattered when the respondents appeared in
the court and sustained their claims.
Nevertheless, just like a child chasing what is rightly
he’s, Hon Ferdinand Dozie Nwanko remained persistent and full of confidence,
and with the commitment, incorruptible and the determination for justice
exhibited by the Judges, the people are again hopeful that the stolen mandate
will be restored.
Consequently, Dr Okey Eze and the INEC failed to
provide the court with their witnesses to back their claims while Hon. Ferdinand
Dozie Nwankwo without delay provided the court with his witness. The respondents
continued to plead for adjournment yet failed to provide any by the end of the privilege
granted them by the court.
The Court on Friday 11th September 2015 read
the final address for the tribunal and recently scheduled to hold judgment on
Friday 9th October 2015 (tomorrow).
Hon Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo who is an all season philanthropist
and a friend to all is a man generally accepted by both the old women/men,
youths and even children; little wonder why they gave him the name “Onye Ndozi”
which means “The man for Change”.
Onye Ndozi is a
man who enjoys the company of his people, listening to them and solving their
problems; even beyond his constituency…
As the people anticipate for tomorrow’s judgment, they
pray the judge to give a measure to the fight against corruption (which is the
priority of the current Nigerian government) by applying justice in the
judgment. They also call on the contesting parties to put the interest of the
people of the constituency first before their personal interests.
