Our great Party, The All Progressive Grand
Alliance (APGA) has noticeably come under virulent attacks and campaign of
calumny in recent times by agents of the opposition Party, the People
Democratic Party (PDP), and sponsored by the former Governor of Anambra State,
Mr. Peter ObI, all in a concerted effort to discredit the laudable achievements
of Governor Willie Obiano, the leader of our great Party and chairman Board of
Trustees.
Our party faithfuls and supporters
must appreciate the fact that former Governor Peter Obi, who was one of us
until his shameful and ignoble defection to PDP, has constituted himself leader
of the opposition within the State, with no other agenda, other than a clear
desire to ensue the destabilization of the relative peace and good governance
witnessed in the state since Governor Willie Obiano mounted the saddle of
governance. The leadership of our great Party through the National chairman Dr.
Victor Ike Oye wishes to express our confidence in the laudable achievements of
Governor Willie Obiano in barely 18 months in office as Governor of Anambra
state. We commend his Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano for making Anambra
state the safest state in Nigeria by ridding the state of the menace of armed
robbers and kidnappers.
The Party appreciates the efforts of the
government in enhancing the Internally Generated Revenue of the state by
increasing same from barely 500 million achieved by his predecessor to 1.3
billion Naira in such a very short period of time in office. The Party appreciates
Governor Willie Obiano for increasing workers salary by 15% even at a time most
states cannot pay their workers. The Party appreciates Governor Willie Obiano
for ensuring projects which were uncompleted by his predecessor are continued
and properly funded. We also appreciate the Governor's effort in changing the
landscape of Awka, with three ultra modern flyovers nearing completion.Besides,
we commend his Excellency for bringing true leadership and commitment to the
affairs and welfare of party members.
Our great party therefore enjoins all
party members and supporters to remain calm and unshaken even in the face of
the virulent attacks and blackmail by Peter Obi and his disgruntled gang in the
PDP. We assure you that his Excellency Governor Willie Obiano remains focused
in his effort to ensure good governance for the people of Anambra State. The
APGA therefore would continue to give its unfettered support to the Government
of Anambra State, ably piloted by Governor Willie Obiano.
